While out in California for the CrossFit Games, the Wodify team had the opportunity to workout with one of our Affiliates, CrossFit SoCal Tribe, located in Cerritos, California. We had such a great time working out there and loved the culture they had created, so we decided to select CrossFit SoCal Tribe as our Box Of The Month. We asked Warren Delos Angeles, Owner and Headcoach of SoCal Tribe to share his experience with Wodify and explain how it has changed his box.
How was Wodify received in your box by your athletes/coaches?
Everyone loves it! It has definitely stepped up the level of competition within the box.
How did you drive adoption and encourage users to log their results?
We really haven’t had to do much. Our clients love that they can track all their own strength and metcon numbers electronically. Wodify makes it so easy, and it’s all in one place!
What would you say to people who thought technology does not belong in a box?
It is time to change your mind! Wodify makes it so much easier for our clients to track their own numbers which are accessible to them anytime and anywhere. Also, being a box owner, it has made everyone more accountable for them as well.
How has Wodify changed your box?
The level of competition has been stepped up in the box. People are constantly monitoring the whiteboard to see how other classes have done, and who has set the bar for the day. It gives people a target to shoot for everyday.
How has Wodify changed you personal day to day?
Having been a CrossFitter for over four years now, it has renewed that sense competition within myself as well. I am constantly shooting to be at the top of the whiteboard everyday. From an owner perspective, I love that we don’t burn through dry erase markers every day! I don’t have to sit there at the front of the board marking down everyone’s rounds every class. People take initiative to track their own scores now, so it frees me up as a trainer to watch everyone’s form more closely during the WODs.
Do you see you see your athletes pushing harder? Striving to Rx more often? Making gains more often?
Most definitely! No one wants to be at the bottom of the whiteboard, everyone wants to be at the top!
