Dogs are man’s best friend, so for this philanthropy event, Wodify’s Portugal team volunteered at a non-profit animal protection organization.
The shelter, O Cantinho da Milu, is approximately an hour south of Wodify’s Lisbon office and home to more than 800 dogs — many of whom were abandoned or mistreated. Founded in 1993, the shelter’s mission is to care for cats and dogs until they’re ready for adoption.
O Cantinho da Milu provides tons of space for their dogs to run around. They also have a team of veterinarians and volunteers who clean the shelter, assist with chores and provide medical care.
After some playtime, the team got to work. We split up into smaller groups to clean the grounds, bathe the dogs and help volunteers with anything they needed. Wodify also provided blankets and medicine, thanks to the support of the local animal hospital Centro Veterinário do Alto.
Volunteering was not only a great way to get out of the office, but it was also fun, rewarding and therapeutic. Wodify had a great experience caring for their four-legged furry friends and can’t wait to go back again!
