SOPA Philly (Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s Philadelphia) offers Special Olympics programming in 25 Philadelphia public schools and many community venues throughout the city. The organization also offers Healthy Athletes, a program that provides medical screening for Special Olympics athletes. All sports training, competitions and healthcare are offered to kids and adults with intellectual disabilities at no cost. Thus, fundraisers like Step Up, are critical to making these opportunities available.

Wodify sponsored Step Up for Special Olympics on November 24 at Philadelphia’s BNY Mellon Center. Participants in Step Up chose from five different events including the CrossFit Climb Challenge, a tough WOD (workout of the day) followed by a timed ascent up 53 flights of stairs. In addition to sponsoring Step Up, Wodify employees participated in the CrossFit Climb Challenge.

CrossFit Delaware Valley, a Wodify customer and fellow sponsor of Step Up, led the CrossFit challenge. Their WOD (workout of the day) for Step Up involved three rounds of 21 kettlebell swings, 15 box jumps and 9 ‘burpees,’ followed by the 53 stairs.
